"Hesaraayitu Karnataka, usiragali Kannada!" — Chennavira Kanavi, Kannada poet.

This literally translates into "The name has now become Karnataka, let us breathe the air of Kannada." First quoted in 1950, this was used in the 1970s as a call for Kannada nationalism.
