The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Written and directed by: Andy Wachowski & Larry Wachowski
[edit]
Neo
- You were right Smith. You're always right. It was inevitable.
- [to Bane/Smith, after he is blinded] I can see you.
- Because I choose to.
- It ends tonight.
[edit]
Trinity
- I don't have time for this shit.
- You wanna make a deal? How 'bout this? You give me Neo, or we all die right here right now.
- Time's up, what's it gonna be, Merv?
[edit]
The Oracle
- Everything that has a beginning has an end. I see the end coming, I see the darkness spreading. I see death... and you are all that stands in his way.
- And if you can't find the answer, then I'm afraid there may be no tomorrow for any of us.
- The Source. That's what you felt when you touched those Sentinels. But you weren't ready for it. You should be dead... but apparently you weren't ready for that, either.
- Very soon, he is going to have the power to destroy this world. But I believe he won't stop there; he can't. He won't stop until there's nothing left at all.
- He is you. Your opposite; your negative. The result of the equation trying to balance itself out.
- Tonight, the future of both worlds will be in your hands, or in his.
[edit]
Agent Smith
- Can you feel it Mr. Anderson? Closing in on you? Oh I can. I really should thank you for it, after all, it was your life that taught me the purpose of all life. The purpose of life is to end.
- This is my world, MY WORLD!
- It isn't fair.
- I'm not so bad, once you get to know me.
- It is inevitable
- Mr. Anderson, welcome back. We missed you.
- D'you like what I've done with the place?
- Why, Mr. Anderson? Why? Why, why do you do it? Why, why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting for something, for more than your survival? Can you tell me what it is, do you even know? Is it freedom, or truth, perhaps peace, could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Anderson, vagaries of perception. Temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose! And all of them as artificial as the matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. You must be able to see it Mr. Anderson, you must know it by now. You can't win, it's pointless to keep fighting! Why, Mr. Anderson, why? Why do you persist?
- Everything that has a beginning has an end, Neo.

Dialogue
- Neo: I just have never...
Rama-Kandra: ...heard a program speak of love?
Neo: It's a... human emotion.
Rama-Kandra: No, it is a word. What matters is the connection the word implies. I see that you are in love. Can you tell me what you would give to hold on to that connection?
Neo: Anything.
Rama-Kandra: Then perhaps the reason you're here is not so different from the reason I'm here.
- The Oracle: "You and I may not be able to see beyond our own choices, but that man can't see beyond any choice."
Neo: "Why?"
The Oracle: "He doesn't understand them, he can't. To him, they are variables in an equation. Each one must be solved and counted. That's his purpose. To balance the equation."
Neo: "And yours?"
The Oracle: "To unbalance it."
- Morpheus: "After everything that has happened, how can you expect me to believe you?"
The Oracle: "I don't. I expect what I always expected, for you to make up your own damn mind. I can only tell you that your friend is in trouble. Believe me or don't."
- Niobe: "Two ships, two directions. Sounds like providence, doesn't it, Morpheus?"
Morpheus: "You never believed in the One."
Niobe: "I still don't."
Morpheus: "Then why are you doing this?"
Niobe: "I believe in him."
- Neo: You helped me to get here, but my question is why? Where does this go? Where does it end?
The Oracle: I don't know.
Neo: You don't know, or you won't tell me?
The Oracle: I told you before. No one can see beyond a choice that they don't understand. And I mean no one.
- The Oracle: "Everything that has a beginning, has an end. I see the end coming. I see the darkness spreading. I see death... and you are all that stands in his way. If you cannot stop him tonight, then I fear tomorrow will never come."
Neo: "Smith."
The Oracle: "Very soon he's going to have the power to destroy this world, but I believe he won't stop there; he can't. He won't stop until there's nothing left at all."
- The Oracle: (making cookies) "That's it. That's the secret. You've got to use your hands."
Sati: "Why?"
The Oracle: "Cookies need love, like everything does."
- Agent Smith: The great and powerful Oracle. We meet at last. I suppose you've been expecting me, right? The all-knowing Oracle is never surprised. How can she be, she knows everything. But If that's true, then why is she here? If she knew I was coming, why didn't she leave? (Smith smashes her plate of cookies off the table) Maybe you knew I was going to do that, and maybe you didn't. If you did, that means you baked those cookies and set that plate right there deliberately, purposefully. Which means you're sitting there, also deliberately, purposefully.
The Oracle: What did you do with Sati?
Agent Smith/Sati: "Cookies need love, like everything does..." (laughs)
The Oracle: You really are a bastard.
Agent Smith: You would know, Mom.
The Oracle: Do what you came here to do.
Agent Smith: Yes, ma'am.
- Agent Smith: Why, Mr. Anderson? Why do you do it? Why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting for something? For more than just your survival? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? Is it freedom? Or truth? Perhaps peace? Could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Anderson. Vagaries of perception. The temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose. And all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson. You must know it by now. You can't win. It's pointless to keep fighting. Why, Mr. Anderson? Why?! Why do you persist!?
Neo: Because I choose to.
- The Architect: You've played a very dangerous game.
The Oracle: Change always is.
- Agent Smith: Mr. Anderson! Welcome back, we missed you.
[Agent Smith pauses and looks around at the multitude of clones he has created.]
Agent Smith: Like what I've done with the place?
Neo: It ends tonight.
Agent Smith: I know it does, I've seen it. That's why the rest of me is just going to enjoy the show because we already know that I'm the one that beats you.
- Trinity: "Six hours ago, I told the Merovingian I was ready to give anything and everything for you. Do you know what has changed in the last six hours?"
Neo: "No."
Trinity: "Nothing."
- Neo: "It is an honor, Sir. "
Morpheus: "No, the honor is still mine."
- The Oracle: "I have your word?"
The Architect: "What do you think I am? Human?"
- Sereph: "Did you know it would turn out like this?"
The Oracle: "Oh no, but I believed."
[edit]
Other
- Mifune: "If it is our time to die then it is our time. All I ask is, if we have to give these bastards our lives, we give them hell before we do!"
- Persephone: She'll do it. She'll kill every one of us if she has to... she's in love.
- Deus Ex Machina: It is done.
- Kid: "Neo... I believe!"
- Rama-Kandra: "The Frenchman does not forget, and he does not forgive."
- Meroviginian: "Have I told you before there is no escaping the nature of universe? Is it that nature that has again brought you to me. When some see 'coincidence', I see 'consequence'. When others see 'chance', I see 'cause'."
- Bane: Look past the flesh, look through the soft gelatin of these dull cow eyes and see your enemy.
